From the bomber type that raided Tokyo four months after Pearl Harbor. Cut from North American B-25 Mitchell, serial 44-30090.

The aircraft

In April 1942, sixteen B-25s launched from the deck of USS Hornet and bombed Tokyo. Nobody had flown a twin engine bomber off a carrier before. The Doolittle Raid did limited physical damage and enormous strategic damage, and it made the B-25 famous.

Beyond that raid, the Mitchell served in almost every theatre of the Second World War, as a medium bomber, ground attack aircraft and maritime strike platform.

MotoArt sourced the skins from 44-30090 through the same channel that supplies material for its B-25 desks. The aircraft was decommissioned and has since been used to keep other B-25s flying.
