Named after the woman who inspired Virgin's flying lady. Cut from the fuselage of Airbus A340-642 registration G-VGAS, one of Virgin Atlantic's long haul fleet.

The aircraft

G-VGAS first flew from the Airbus works at Toulouse on 16 March 2005 and served Virgin Atlantic until May 2017. Over those twelve years it completed 6,522 flights and logged 56,589 hours in the air.

The aircraft was christened Varga Girl, after Alberto Vargas, the Peruvian painter whose pin up illustrations inspired the flying lady figure Virgin carried on its aircraft for decades.

The A340-600 was the longest airliner in the world when it entered service, built for the kind of ultra long haul routes Virgin ran out of Heathrow and Gatwick.

Choosing the Partial option

On a Partial tag the paint break falls off centre, so the split between colours sits in a different place on every single piece. The colours named in the option are indicative only. The exact position, proportion and shape of the break on the tag you receive will differ from the photograph, and no two are alike. That is what makes each one a single object rather than one of a run.

What you receive

  • One PlaneTag cut from the actual fuselage of G-VGAS
  • Laser etched with the aircraft type and registration
  • Numbered as part of a limited edition, on its display card
  • Durable metal ring for keys, luggage or display

Please read before ordering

PlaneTags are cut from real aircraft skin, not stamped from new metal. Each carries the paint, thickness and wear of the exact section it came from. Colour varies between tags. Photographs are a guide only.
