The aircraft

Few combat aircraft have shaped modern air power like the F-16. Designed as a light, agile, genuinely multi role fighter, it became the aircraft that dozens of air forces built their capability around, and it is still flying in numbers decades after the A model entered service.

Serial 80-0542 is an early A variant, from the generation that established the type's reputation.

Because military aircraft are painted and treated differently to airliners, F-16 tags have a distinctly different surface to a commercial tag. Greys, primer tones and service wear rather than airline livery colours.
