The aircraft

EVA Air is young by airline standards. Its first flight was in July 1991. Within three decades it had become a Star Alliance member connecting Asia and mainland China to North America, Oceania and Europe, and had earned a fourth consecutive five star Skytrax rating in 2019.

The livery carries meaning the airline is explicit about: green for durability, orange for technological innovation, and a tail logo intended to signal stability and service.

The 747-400 was the last great passenger variant of the Queen of the Skies, and airlines have now retired almost all of them.
